Do You Suspect Your Child Might Have Autism?
We're Here to Help.

If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).

These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.

frequently asked questions

In-home ABA therapy allows Applied Behavior Analysis services to take place directly within your child’s home, where daily routines and behaviors naturally occur. Rather than removing a child from their environment, therapy is embedded into everyday life and delivered by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with clinical oversight from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

This approach focuses on teaching functional skills as challenges arise in real time—such as communication during family interactions, following household routines, or managing transitions throughout the day. Because learning happens where behaviors naturally occur, children often demonstrate stronger carryover and more consistent use of new skills.

In-home ABA therapy is often a good fit for families seeking support with behaviors that primarily occur at home or within daily routines. It can be especially helpful for children who struggle with transitions, experience heightened behaviors in familiar settings, or benefit from individualized attention within their home environment.

A BCBA will complete a comprehensive assessment to determine whether in-home ABA therapy is clinically appropriate. For some families, in-home services serve as the primary setting, while others may transition between home and clinic-based therapy as goals evolve.

One of the biggest advantages of in-home ABA therapy is the ability to address behaviors in the exact environment where they occur. This allows therapists to work on skills such as communication, compliance, and emotional regulation in real-life situations rather than simulated settings.

In-home services also support stronger caregiver involvement and practical coaching. Parents and caregivers can immediately apply strategies during daily routines, which often leads to faster generalization of skills and increased confidence in supporting their child outside of therapy hours.

Rather than adding extra demands to your day, in-home ABA therapy is designed to work within your existing schedule. Sessions are planned around times that make sense for your household, and therapy goals are addressed during activities your child already engages in.

This may include working on skills during play, meals, getting ready for school, or transitions between activities. Embedding therapy into familiar routines helps learning feel natural and sustainable over time.

This may include working on skills during play, meals, getting ready for school, or transitions between activities. Embedding therapy into familiar routines helps learning feel natural and sustainable over time.

Goals in in-home ABA therapy are centered on practical, everyday skills that support independence and participation at home. These often include communication development, emotional regulation, daily living skills, behavior reduction, safety awareness, and positive family interactions.

Because therapy occurs in the home, goals are highly individualized and reflect your child’s specific routines, challenges, and strengths. This allows treatment plans to focus on meaningful change that directly impacts daily life.

Caregiver involvement is an important part of in-home ABA therapy. While parents are not expected to lead sessions, they are encouraged to observe, ask questions, and practice strategies alongside the therapist.

This collaborative approach ensures consistency between therapy and daily life and helps caregivers feel confident using strategies even when the therapy team is not present.

Therapists are trained to adapt sessions to real household environments. At the start of services, the BCBA works with your family to identify a space that supports learning while remaining realistic for your home.

When siblings are present, therapists may establish clear boundaries or thoughtfully include siblings when appropriate. The goal is not to eliminate normal household activity, but to create productive learning opportunities within it.

Progress is monitored through structured data collection during every therapy session. Therapists track skill acquisition and behavior changes, while BCBAs regularly review this data to guide clinical decisions.

Families receive consistent communication through progress updates, scheduled reviews, and opportunities to discuss outcomes. This shared approach ensures transparency and alignment throughout the therapy process.

ABA therapy is flexible and continuously evaluated. If progress slows or services need adjustment, the BCBA will review data, observe sessions, and collaborate with your family to make changes.

Adjustments may include refining goals, modifying teaching strategies, increasing caregiver involvement, or transitioning to another service setting. This ongoing evaluation ensures therapy remains responsive to your child’s needs.

Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education does not provide formal autism diagnoses through in-home ABA therapy. However, we support families by offering free developmental screening tools, including the M-CHAT-R and CAST.

If screening results suggest the need for a full evaluation, families can be connected with trusted diagnostician partners who offer virtual or in-person autism evaluations. Following diagnosis, our clinical team can begin developing an individualized in-home ABA therapy plan.
