Patricia “Trish” Lewandoski is a dedicated Clinical Manager who has played a pivotal role in establishing our first clinic location in Connecticut. With over 20 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Trish brings a wealth of knowledge to her team and the families we serve. She focuses on evidence-based interventions that foster growth and development for clients and their families. Her leadership and commitment to learning create a supportive and effective environment at Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education.
Our ABA clinic provides a structured and nurturing environment for children to develop essential developmental and age-appropriate skills. Through a combination of play–based and adult–directed activities, children learn communication, daily living, pre-academic, and social readiness. Our experienced team facilitates these sessions, helping your child build independence and confidence in a setting that mirrors real-world scenarios. Clinic–based service models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
In-home ABA therapy services target socially significant skills within the home environment. This approach targets communication, daily routines, and addresses specific challenges like communication, activities of daily living, and behavior management within a familiar home environment. Our team works closely with families to create personalized interventions, so we enhance engagement and foster independence within the home setting. Home–based service models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
Our In-school ABA therapy services provide vital support within both public and private school settings. In addition to providing direct services to your child, our team works closely with teachers and school staff to develop strategies that help with skill development and promote positive peer interactions. By integrating ABA principles into the school day, we enhance students’ learning experiences and support their success. When appropriate, in-school service delivery models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).
These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.
“We have had nothing but great experiences here. The transformation in my kids is incredible. Great communication. Always friendly. We love going here.
My son’s personality has blossomed within such a short time. His happiness skyrocketed once we broke down that wall.
From the moment that we met our team and they were playing with our son, it felt very personalized. They were very engaged with him, and that is when we were starting to understand that he would have these different goals that he would try to achieve.

Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our ABA programs are individualized to each child’s unique needs and focus on building communication, social, daily living, and school readiness skills through evidence-based strategies. Services are delivered in clinics, homes, and community settings to ensure skills are practiced and generalized in real life.
In addition to direct therapy, we also provide school consultation services. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) partner with teachers, administrators, and support staff to create behavior intervention plans, train educators, and implement strategies that improve learning environments for students with diverse needs.
By offering both individualized ABA therapy and school-based consultation, Cultivate helps families, educators, and communities work together to support children in reaching their fullest potential.
Yes of course! We offer in-home ABA therapy for children with autism in Hamden, Stamford, Norwich, and in surrounding areas throughout Fairfield County. Many families prefer this option because it allows therapy to take place in the child’s natural environment, where everyday routines and family interactions occur.
In-home sessions are led by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Therapy goals may include communication, daily living skills, play, and behavior reduction strategies—all tailored to your child’s needs. Parents also receive hands-on coaching during sessions, so you can learn the same evidence-based strategies to support progress outside of therapy hours.
Our in-home ABA services are designed to create consistency, empower families, and help children generalize skills where they matter most—at home and in the community.
At Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education in Hamden, CT, we offer personalized ABA therapy that’s tailored to each child’s needs, learning style, and family goals. As a BHCOE-accredited provider and active CASP member, we follow the highest clinical standards and use only evidence-based strategies proven to support meaningful progress.
Our BCBAs and RBTs focus on making therapy engaging, relationship-driven, and highly reinforcing so your child stays motivated and confident. Families choose Cultivate in Hamden because of our compassionate team, individualized programming, and commitment to improving each child’s quality of life at home, school, and in the community.
At Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education, the frequency of ABA therapy is tailored to each child’s unique needs. After a comprehensive assessment, our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) create an individualized treatment plan that recommends the number of therapy hours per week.
Most children benefit from consistent, daily sessions Monday through Friday, which helps reinforce learning and ensures steady progress. However, the exact schedule will vary depending on your child’s age, developmental goals, and family availability.
Whether therapy takes place in the clinic, at home, or in the community, our ultimate goal is to provide enough intensity and consistency for meaningful outcomes while making the schedule manageable for families. Parent training is also built into the plan, so caregivers stay actively involved and can support skill development outside of therapy sessions.
Our team consists of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide clinical oversight. Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) deliver one-on-one therapy sessions using evidence-based strategies under BCBA supervision. New Behavior Technicians (BTs) undergo extensive training and transition to RBT certification within their first 60 days—ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with insurance standards. This structure allows us to maintain a skilled, compassionate team dedicated to helping every child succeed.
Absolutely! At Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education, parent training is a cornerstone of ABA therapy because it helps ensure that skills learned in sessions carry over into everyday life. During these meetings, parents and caregivers work directly with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to review progress, practice strategies, and learn how to respond to behaviors in ways that support growth and independence.
We encourage families to participate in weekly parent training sessions, where you’ll gain hands-on tools and guidance to reinforce skills at home, school, and in the community. This collaboration not only improves generalization and maintenance of skills but also empowers parents to feel confident supporting their child outside of therapy.
By making parent training a central part of treatment, we create consistency, strengthen outcomes, and build a true partnership between families and our clinical team.
ABA therapy can look a little different for every child because everything we do is tailored to their specific needs, strengths, and goals. There isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” session — every kid’s program is built just for them.
In general, you’ll see a mix of different teaching styles. Sometimes we do more structured learning at a table (Discrete Trial Teaching, or DTT). Other times, we teach through play, everyday routines, or natural interactions (Natural Environment Teaching, or NET). We also work a lot on helping kids communicate their needs in ways that work for them (Functional Communication Training, or FCT).
We blend these approaches with positive behavior strategies to help kids build skills that reduce the challenges associated with autism — things like communication, social skills, flexibility, independence, and emotional regulation.
ABA shouldn’t feel cold or clinical. Our goal is to make sessions fun, supportive, and meaningful, so your child can learn in ways that feel natural and actually stick.
We track progress every single day! During sessions, our team collects data on the skills we’re teaching so we can see what’s working and what might need to be adjusted. It’s not random — we use a structured data system to keep everything consistent and accurate across the day.
Your child’s BCBA reviews that data regularly (usually every week) to look for trends. If something isn’t improving as quickly as we’d like, or if a skill has really taken off, we make updates to the plan right away. This helps us celebrate progress early, catch barriers fast, and keep your child moving forward.
The goal is simple: make sure therapy is actually making a difference — and keep things flexible enough to adjust when your child needs something different.
Yes, we can! Our therapists are often able to provide ABA sessions right in your child’s daycare or preschool. It’s a great way for kids to practice their skills in the place they spend most of their day.
That said, every school or center has its own rules about outside providers coming in, so there can be some limitations. Your Clinical Manager (CM) will help walk you through those details, talk with the daycare or preschool, and figure out what’s allowed and what the best setup would be.
Our goal is always to make therapy as convenient and effective as possible, and to work with your child in the environment that makes the most sense for your family.
We do not provide formal autism diagnoses at Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education, but we make it easy to start the process. Families can access our free developmental screenings—the M-CHAT-R for ages 16–30 months and the CAST for ages 4–11 years. If results suggest further evaluation, we’ll connect you with one of our trusted diagnostician partners who provide virtual autism assessments for quick and convenient access. Once your child has a diagnosis, our BCBAs will create a personalized ABA therapy plan to support their growth.
