The Role of ABA Therapy in Addressing Challenging Behaviors in Public Spaces
Public spaces such as grocery stores, parks, schools, and restaurants can be overwhelming for individuals
At Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education in Kingsland, we provide clinic based and in-home ABA therapy services to support children with autism and their families. Our dedicated therapists are here to help your child – and your family – grow and thrive.
We put an emphasis on a personalized approach so that every child receives the care they need in essential developmental areas like behavior management, communication skills, and social interactions. By working closely with parents and caregivers, we not only address specific challenges but also help families play an active role in their child’s development. Together, we strive to make a significant impact in the lives of children with autism in our region.
Rachel Anderson is an experienced Clinical Manager at our Kingsland clinic with an extensive background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). With vast knowledge of working in a variety of settings (home, school, community, and clinics) she brings a collaborative approach using evidence-based interventions to our team. She plays a pivotal role in maintaining a supportive and effective environment at Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education. Originally from New Jersey, she has lived and practiced in Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, and Georgia. As a mother of three, she enjoys watching her babies grow, reading, and going to the gym.
Our ABA clinic provides a structured and nurturing environment for children to develop essential developmental and age-appropriate skills. Through a combination of play–based and adult–directed activities, children learn communication, daily living, pre-academic, and social readiness. Our experienced team facilitates these sessions, helping your child build independence and confidence in a setting that mirrors real-world scenarios. Clinic–based service models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
In-home ABA therapy services target socially significant skills within the home environment. This approach targets communication, daily routines, and addresses specific challenges like communication, activities of daily living, and behavior management within a familiar home environment. Our team works closely with families to create personalized interventions, so we enhance engagement and foster independence within the home setting. Home–based service models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).
These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.
My daughter has been coming here since she turned 3 and was no longer eligible for the Early Intervention Program and luckily this has been the single best decision I have ever made in my life.
I don’t know where I would be without their wonderful team. These people truly have a gift. And our children are fortunate enough to reap the benefits of those gifts. I just cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about them and the entire process. It hasn’t only been life changing, but also lifesaving. And I am forever grateful for this amazing experience.
I highly recommend Cultivate! Their staff is always so kind and positive! I had a great experience with Cultivate and highly recommend them for ABA. Their team is passionate, well educated, and very attentive.

Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services designed to support children with autism and other developmental needs through individualized, evidence-based care. Our services include one-on-one ABA therapy, caregiver training and guidance, and opportunities for social or group learning that help children build skills alongside peers.
Treatment plans are created and overseen by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and focus on communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, daily living skills, and independence. Services may be provided in our clinic, in the home, or in community and educational settings—allowing families in Kingsland to access care in the environments that best support their child’s growth.
Yes. In addition to clinic-based ABA therapy, we offer in-home ABA therapy services when appropriate. In-home therapy allows children to practice skills within familiar routines and gives caregivers the opportunity to receive hands-on guidance in real-life situations.
A BCBA completes a comprehensive assessment to determine whether in-home services, clinic-based services, or a combination of both is the best fit. Therapy settings may change over time as your child’s skills develop and goals evolve.
Cultivate’s ABA therapy stands out through our commitment to individualized care, strong clinical oversight, and genuine family partnership. We focus on building meaningful skills that improve daily life—not just short-term outcomes.
We are accredited by the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) and active members of the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP), reflecting our dedication to ethical, high-quality care. Our team collaborates closely with families, educators, and other providers to ensure therapy is consistent and supportive across all settings.
ABA therapy schedules are personalized based on your child’s needs and goals. After completing an assessment, your BCBA will recommend a therapy schedule designed to support steady progress.
Many children receive between 10 and 40 hours of ABA therapy per week. Consistent participation helps reinforce learning, strengthen new skills, and support long-term success. Your BCBA will work with you to create a schedule that fits your family’s routine.

Yes. Parent and caregiver training is an essential part of ABA therapy at Cultivate. We believe families are key partners in their child’s success.
Through caregiver training, parents learn strategies to support communication, behavior, and daily routines at home and in the community. This collaboration helps ensure skills are reinforced consistently and generalized across environments.
Families often explore ABA therapy after receiving an autism diagnosis or when they notice challenges with communication, social interaction, behavior, or independence.
Our team can complete an assessment to determine whether ABA therapy is appropriate and what level of support may be beneficial. We work closely with families to explain findings, answer questions, and guide next steps with clarity and care.
Parent involvement varies based on the therapy setting. In clinic-based programs, parents typically drop off and pick up their child and receive regular communication from the therapy team. In home-based services, caregivers are often present and actively involved during sessions.
Across all settings, families are encouraged to participate in caregiver training, progress reviews, and collaborative planning.
ABA therapy sessions are engaging, purposeful, and individualized. Sessions often include play-based learning, hands-on activities, and structured teaching tailored to your child’s goals and interests.
Children may rotate between activities or environments to practice skills such as communication, flexibility, and social interaction. Every session is led by an RBT under BCBA supervision to ensure therapy remains effective and supportive.
Progress is monitored through ongoing data collection during every therapy session. RBTs collect data on targeted goals, and BCBAs review this information regularly to evaluate progress and adjust treatment plans.
Families receive regular updates and progress reviews, ensuring transparency and shared understanding throughout the therapy process.
Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education does not provide formal autism diagnoses. However, we offer free developmental screening tools, including the M-CHAT-R and CAST, to help identify potential developmental concerns.
If further evaluation is recommended, we connect families with trusted diagnostician partners who provide virtual autism evaluations. Once a diagnosis is completed, our BCBAs can begin developing an individualized ABA therapy plan.
