How Long Does ABA Therapy Take?
The ABA Therapy Timeline: Understanding Milestones & Progress When we start working with new families,
Welcome to Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education, offering ABA therapy in Vero Beach! We are dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families through in-home services. Our experienced team strives to create a warm and encouraging environment where kids can flourish in their own homes.
Working closely with parents and caregivers is central to our approach, ensuring that each session is engaging and effective. Together, we can promote growth, build confidence, and pave the way for a brighter future for children in Vero Beach and the surrounding areas, including Sebastian and Fort Pierce.
Teddie Smink is an accomplished Clinical Manager at our Vero Beach location, bringing a wealth of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). With a strong background in leading multidisciplinary teams and implementing evidence-based interventions, Teddie plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and effective environment at Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education.
In-home ABA therapy services for Vero Beach children target socially significant skills within the home environment. This approach targets communication, daily routines, and addresses specific challenges like communication, activities of daily living, and behavior management within a familiar home environment. Our team works closely with families to create personalized interventions, so we enhance engagement and foster independence within the home setting. Home–based service models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
Our In-school ABA therapy services provide vital support within both public and private school settings. In addition to providing direct services to your child, our team works closely with teachers and school staff to develop strategies that help with skill development and promote positive peer interactions. By integrating ABA principles into the school day, we enhance students’ learning experiences and support their success. When appropriate, in-school service delivery models include regular parent and caregiver training to maximize learning opportunities outside of structured ABA Therapy sessions.
If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).
These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.
This is a great ABA facility. The technicians and our BCBA really care about our child and family as a whole. Our BCBA is phenomenal! My son has grown so much in the last year since he’s been attending.
I wish I could give Cultivate INFINITE stars but they will only allow 5! My son has been a client for a little over a year. Just beginning at the age of 3. I had never left him in anyone’s care before and as uneasy as it was in the beginning, I was quickly put at ease with the way they took care of him. He wasn’t just a client. He became their child and there is nothing more comforting to a mother than to find people who love their child as much as they do.
We love it here! My son is making a lot of progress and everyone at the center is very nice and helpful.

In-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provides individualized behavioral support within your child’s home, allowing learning to occur where daily life naturally happens. Services are delivered one-on-one by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and guided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who develops and oversees your child’s treatment plan.
By working in the home, therapy focuses on teaching functional skills in real situations—such as communicating needs, following household routines, managing frustration, and building independence. This approach helps children apply skills more confidently and consistently throughout their everyday activities.
In-home ABA therapy may be an excellent fit for families who want active involvement and practical guidance within their daily routines. It is often recommended when caregivers want support learning how to manage behaviors at home or when children benefit from learning in familiar environments.
A BCBA completes a comprehensive assessment to determine whether in-home services are appropriate based on your child’s needs and family goals. Some families use in-home therapy as a primary service, while others combine it with clinic-based care to support skill development across settings.
One of the biggest benefits of in-home ABA therapy is the opportunity for caregivers to learn alongside their child. Parents and caregivers can observe strategies in real time and receive coaching during everyday routines.
Learning in the home also supports stronger skill carryover. Because children practice skills in the same environment where they are used, families often see more consistent progress and greater confidence applying strategies outside therapy sessions.
Goals addressed during in-home ABA therapy often focus on skills that improve daily functioning and family life. These may include communication development, emotional regulation, daily living skills, behavior reduction, safety awareness, and positive interactions with caregivers.
Because therapy occurs in the home, goals are personalized to your child’s environment and family priorities, ensuring treatment targets what matters most in everyday life.
Applied behavior analysis supports how we learn and applies those techniques to make positive behavioral changes. At Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education in Vero Beach, FL we offer expert ABA therapy to help your child gain the confidence they need to develop and grow.
Our Vero Beach in-home ABA therapy services can help your child manage daily tasks including hygiene, potty training, completing household chores and so much more.
Building sibling and family relationships is an important part of helping children on the autism spectrum. Our in-home services can help your family find common ground and develop lasting bonds with your child.
We are always ready to help you with any questions you may have about coverage. Contact us today!

Yes, caregiver participation is a key part of in-home ABA therapy. While caregivers are not required to lead sessions, they are encouraged to observe, ask questions, and practice strategies with guidance from the therapy team.
This collaborative approach builds caregiver confidence and ensures strategies are consistently used throughout the week, supporting long-term success beyond therapy hours.
In-home ABA therapy follows strict ethical, professional, and safety standards. Clinicians maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and safety protocols while working in family homes.
Before services begin, families review expectations related to safety, privacy, and session structure to ensure comfort and transparency throughout care.
Progress is tracked through consistent data collection during every therapy session. Therapists document progress toward goals, and BCBAs regularly review this information to guide treatment decisions.
Families receive ongoing communication through progress updates and scheduled reviews, allowing caregivers to clearly understand progress and next steps.
Most families do not need to make major preparations before starting in-home ABA therapy. Your therapy team will help identify a safe, comfortable space for sessions and provide guidance on minimizing major distractions when possible.
Therapy is designed to work within everyday home environments, allowing learning to occur naturally without requiring families to change their living space.
ABA therapy is continuously evaluated to ensure it supports meaningful progress. If services need adjustment, the BCBA will review data, observe sessions, and collaborate with your family to make changes.
Adjustments may include updating goals, modifying strategies, increasing caregiver coaching, or transitioning service settings. This responsive approach ensures therapy continues to meet your child’s evolving needs
Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education does not provide formal autism diagnoses through in-home ABA therapy services. However, we support families by offering free developmental screening tools, including the M-CHAT-R and CAST.
If screening results suggest further evaluation is needed, families can be connected with trusted diagnostician partners who offer virtual or in-person autism evaluations. Once a diagnosis is completed, our team can begin developing an individualized in-home ABA therapy plan.
