Do You Suspect Your Child Might Have Autism?
We're Here to Help.

If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).

These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.

They’re phenomenal therapists trained to help our ASD babies be themselves completely while helping them do what is considered ‘normal’ to function in the world and be independent. They DO NOT try to dim your child’s personality at all.

My son’s personality has blossomed within such a short time. His happiness skyrocketed once we broke down that wall. Not only is he learning from the staff here, but us parents as well. Again, much appreciation to everyone at Cultivate for their time, patience, AND the desire to help teach our kids.

frequently asked questions

At our Georgetown, Kentucky location, Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education provides comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental needs. Our Georgetown ABA clinic delivers individualized, evidence-based treatment designed to improve communication, social development, emotional regulation, daily living skills, and overall independence.

Services may be provided in our clinic setting, in the child’s home, or in community and school environments depending on clinical appropriateness. Each child’s program is developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and customized to reflect their strengths, goals, and family priorities. Our focus is helping children in Scott County and surrounding areas build meaningful, functional skills that support long-term success.

Yes, in-home ABA therapy is available for families in Georgetown, KY when clinically appropriate. Some children benefit from learning in their natural home environment, especially when goals involve daily routines such as dressing, toileting, mealtime behaviors, safety awareness, or sibling interaction.

In certain cases, services may be delivered exclusively in the clinic, while other families may combine clinic-based ABA therapy with in-home support. Our clinical team determines the most effective setting during the assessment process to ensure therapy aligns with your child’s needs.

What distinguishes our Georgetown ABA program is our commitment to individualized, socially significant care. We prioritize goals that matter to families — not generic programs. Our BCBAs design treatment plans that focus on real-life outcomes such as increased independence, improved communication, emotional flexibility, and peer engagement.

We also emphasize consistency across environments. When appropriate, we collaborate with local schools, daycare providers, and related service professionals to support generalization of skills. Additionally, our clinical leaders maintain manageable caseloads so they can provide hands-on supervision, timely program adjustments, and meaningful caregiver collaboration.

Our approach blends structured teaching methods with natural environment learning so children can build skills that carry over beyond therapy.

The number of ABA therapy hours your child receives in Georgetown depends on a comprehensive clinical assessment. After observing your child and completing parent interviews, your BCBA will determine medical necessity and recommend a schedule.

Some children benefit from focused ABA therapy (typically 10–25 hours per week) targeting specific skill deficits, while others may require comprehensive services (up to 30–40 hours per week) for broader developmental support. Therapy is generally provided Monday through Friday, with schedules designed around both clinical needs and family availability.

Yes, caregiver collaboration is a required component of our Georgetown ABA programs. We believe children make the greatest progress when caregivers understand and feel confident implementing behavioral strategies outside of therapy sessions.

Parent meetings focus on reviewing progress data, problem-solving challenges at home, and teaching practical strategies for reinforcing communication, managing behaviors, and building independence. These sessions help ensure therapy gains extend beyond the clinic and into everyday life.

ABA therapy may be appropriate if your child demonstrates delays or challenges in communication, social interaction, play skills, emotional regulation, or adaptive functioning. Many children are referred after receiving an autism diagnosis, but ABA can also address behavior concerns and skill deficits impacting daily life.

If you notice persistent tantrums, difficulty following directions, limited peer engagement, restricted interests, or safety concerns such as elopement, it may be helpful to speak with your pediatrician about a referral for evaluation. Our team can guide you through the assessment process and determine whether ABA therapy is recommended.

There is no one-size-fits-all ABA session. In our Georgetown clinic, sessions are individualized and may include a combination of structured instruction and play-based learning.

Children may work on communication skills, social interaction, behavior reduction strategies, adaptive living tasks, and academic readiness. Teaching methods may include discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), peer interaction groups, and generalization practice across different activities and therapists.

The goal is to create a motivating, supportive environment where children feel safe, engaged, and successful.

ABA therapy in Georgetown is data-driven. During each session, RBTs collect objective data on targeted skills and behaviors using a secure electronic data collection system. These data points are reviewed regularly by the supervising BCBA to identify trends, measure mastery, and adjust interventions as needed.

Treatment plans are formally reviewed and updated at regular intervals to ensure continued progress. Families receive ongoing updates and have opportunities to review data during caregiver meetings.

Yes. Our Georgetown ABA team works with children across all communication levels, including nonverbal and minimally verbal learners. We focus on functional communication development using individualized strategies such as sign language, picture exchange systems (PECS), speech-generating devices (AAC), gestures, or vocal speech.

When children receive speech therapy, we collaborate with speech-language pathologists to maintain consistency in communication goals.

Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education in Georgetown does not provide formal autism diagnostic evaluations. However, we offer free developmental screening tools, including the M-CHAT (for toddlers) and CAST (for older children), to help families determine whether a full diagnostic evaluation may be warranted.

If a comprehensive autism evaluation is needed, we can connect families with trusted diagnostician partners who offer virtual assessments to reduce wait times and increase access to care in the Georgetown and Scott County area.
