Do You Suspect Your Child Might Have Autism?
We're Here to Help.

If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, interacts, or plays, getting clarity early can make all the difference. At Cultivate, we help families take those first important steps by offering trusted autism screenings, such as the M-CHAT-R (for toddlers) and the CAST (for older children).

These screenings can provide valuable insight and help determine whether pursuing a formal diagnostic evaluation is the next step. Our team can help directly connect you to our diagnostic partners to ensure families have clear pathways to the support they need.

frequently asked questions

We provide behavioral and developmental services for children with autism, with ABA therapy as our primary treatment model. Our team focuses on teaching new skills, strengthening communication, improving social interactions, and reducing behaviors that get in the way of learning. Families are included through consistent parent training to maximize progress across all environments.

Yes, we can offer in-home ABA in the Mokena area, but it really depends on a few things. After your child’s assessment, we look at whether in-home sessions make sense for their treatment plan and goals. We also have to check insurance guidelines and make sure we have a BCBA and team available who can travel to your area.

If everything lines up — treatment needs, insurance, and staff availability — we’re happy to provide in-home support. We serve Mokena and nearby areas like Frankfort, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Lockport, and Orland Park.

Honestly, we’re all-in when it comes to ABA. Our team eats, sleeps, and breathes this work, and we don’t believe in a cookie-cutter approach. Every child gets a completely individualized plan based on their strengths, learning style, and goals.

We’re also BHCOE-accredited and active members of CASP, which means we follow the highest standards in the ABA field and use only evidence-based strategies that truly make a difference.

We focus on making therapy fun, engaging, and meaningful. Our BCBAs and RBTs spend real time building strong connections with your child because good rapport = better progress. Your family gets matched with a team that actually fits your child’s personality and needs.

At the end of the day, we’re here to walk beside your family with compassion, creativity, and high-quality care that truly helps your child thrive.

It really depends on your child. Every kid has different needs, different strengths, and different goals, so the number of hours isn’t the same for everyone. Once a BCBA completes your child’s assessment, they’ll recommend a schedule that actually fits your child — not someone else’s.

Some kids need just a few hours a week, and others benefit from more consistent, daily support. Ultimately, it’s all based on what will help your child make the best progress.

All of our BCBAs are highly trained. They each have a master’s degree in behavior analysis (or a related field) and have passed a pretty tough board exam to earn their BCBA credential. On top of that, in Illinois, our BCBAs are also licensed behavior analysts (LBAs), which means they meet the state’s additional requirements for practicing.

You can trust that you’ll be partnered with a team that’s educated, certified, licensed, and fully qualified to support your child and family’s needs.

Yes, we do! In fact, parent training is a required part of starting ABA therapy with us. We want you to feel confident, supported, and empowered.

During parent training, we walk you through the same strategies we use in sessions and show you how to apply them at home, in the community, or wherever challenges come up. It’s all about helping you feel prepared and making sure the progress your child makes in therapy carries over into everyday life.

You’re a huge part of your child’s success, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

ABA sessions look a little different for every child because everything we do is individualized. But in general, you can expect a mix of structured learning and natural, play-based teaching. Some parts of the session might involve practicing skills at a table (like communication, matching, or following directions), and other parts might happen through play, games, or everyday routines.

Kids also get chances to work on social skills, take turns, join group activities, and practice school-readiness skills if that fits their goals. Everything we do is guided by data, encouragement, and lots of positive reinforcement — we want your child to feel motivated, supported, and successful.

Overall, sessions are engaging, hands-on, and built around your child’s strengths, interests, and individual goals.

Data, data, data! Lots of it! We collect data on every skill we’re teaching and every behavior we’re working to reduce. This helps us see, in real time, what’s improving and what might need a different approach.

Your child’s BCBA reviews that data regularly to make sure the plan is working. If something isn’t moving in the right direction, we make adjustments right away so your child keeps progressing.

It’s the best way for us to know what’s actually helping and how to keep therapy effective and meaningful.

Yes! We do have bilingual ABA team members. We currently have providers who are fluent in Spanish and Arabic, and we do our best to match families with someone who can communicate in the language they’re most comfortable with.

If you need a specific language, just let us know — we’ll check availability in your area and see who we can pair you with.

We work with children across all levels of communication — from kids who are nonverbal to kids who use a mix of gestures, pictures, signs, devices, or spoken language. ABA can help your child learn to communicate in the way that feels most natural and effective for them.

We use tools like PECS, sign language, and AAC devices, and we can also collaborate with your child’s speech therapist to make sure we’re all supporting the same goals.

Our focus is helping your child express themselves, build confidence, and feel understood — however their communication looks.
