CAST Screening for Autism

The CAST screening, also known as the Childhood Autism Spectrum Test, is a parental questionnaire used to screen for autism spectrum traits in children aged 4–11 years. Consisting of 39 yes/no questions focused on social communication, interaction, and restricted behaviors, the test helps identify children who may benefit from further clinical assessment.

The Childhood Autism Spectrum Test (CAST) was developed by researchers at the Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge. It is used as a screening tool to help identify autism traits in children. This tool is not a diagnostic assessment.

For children aged 16-30 months, please use the M-CHAT screening tool.
