Autism Evaluation & Diagnosis

In Naperville

Helping you navigate
the autism journey,
every step of the way.

Our ABA Center:
1272 Bond St., Suite 100, Naperville, IL 60563

Some parents worry that an autism diagnosis might define their child or shape their future in unexpected ways. It’s natural to have concerns, but what we hear most often from families isn’t regret about getting an autism diagnosis, it’s wishing they had pursued an evaluation sooner.

Early detection through an autism evaluation can lead to the right support and resources, helping children and families thrive in the future.

Here at Cultivate, we provide compassionate and comprehensive services to diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Still, more importantly, we support parents and caregivers as they navigate the process, especially in the critical beginning stages.

A proper diagnosis doesn’t have to be scary. It is not a label, nor does it change who your child is; it simply opens the door to understanding, support, and resources for a brighter future.

Our Autism Screening Tools

We utilize comprehensive and trusted autism screening tools, including:

M-CHAT-R

(Modified Checklist for
Autism in Toddlers)

A widely used screening tool designed to identify early signs of autism in toddlers aged 16-30 months.

CAST

(Childhood Autism
Spectrum Test)

A parent-completed questionnaire used to assess autism traits in children aged 4 and older.

Using evidence-based testing tools tailored to your areas of concern, the diagnostician will assess areas such as language, cognitive skills, motor function, sensory sensitivities, comprehension, problem-solving, and adaptive skills.

3

Diagnosis & Discussion

You will receive summarized findings based on the assessment and receive personalized recommendations for the next steps.

4

Guidance & Support

Families receive a tailored plan, including therapy options, educational support, and community resources to help their child thrive.

The Importance of an Autism Diagnosis

An autism diagnosis provides families with clarity and direction. It helps you better understand your child’s unique strengths and challenges, and it opens the door to resources, therapies, and supports that can make a lasting difference in their development and daily life.

What Happens Next:

  • Access to Services: Results can be used to begin therapy (e.g. ABA therapy). With a formal medical diagnosis, insurance will often times cover your therapy. However, coverage may vary by insurance provider.
  • Educational Supports: The diagnosis can help support your request for school accommodations, special education services, building a 504 plan, or an individualized education program (IEP).
  • Community Resources: There are many local, state, and national resources designed to support autistic children and their caregivers.
  • Future Planning: A diagnosis helps guide long-term planning by providing a clearer understanding of a child’s needs as they grow.
